Our mission
Every stylist consultation, every eyewear fitting, and every contouring tutorial begins with the same question: what is your face shape? Yet most people don't reliably know the answer. Mirror-and-tape-measure methods are inconsistent, and online quizzes just ask you to guess about yourself. We built Face Shape Finder to give everyone a stylist-grade answer — measured, not guessed — without cost, sign-ups, or surrendering personal photos to a server.
How the AI works
When you upload a selfie, a face mesh neural network locates 478 anatomical landmarks across your face — hairline, cheekbones, jaw corners, chin. From those points we compute the four classic stylist measurements: face length, forehead width, cheekbone width, and jawline width. The measurements become scale-independent ratios, and those ratios are compared against the signature profiles of the seven face shapes: oval, round, square, heart, diamond, oblong, and triangle. The closest profile is your result, scored with a confidence percentage, and the runner-up is named too — because plenty of faces are honest blends. How accurate is it?
With a clear, front-facing, well-lit photo, landmark-based measurement is highly consistent — the same photo always produces the same answer, and results typically align with professional stylist assessments. We're equally upfront about the limits: head tilt, harsh shadows, close-up lens distortion, and hair covering the face outline all shift measurements, which is why the tool shows you the exact lines it measured and a confidence score rather than a bare verdict. Privacy by architecture
Most face-analysis websites upload your photo to their servers and ask you to trust their retention policy. We removed the server instead. The AI model downloads to your browser and runs locally via WebAssembly, so your photo is never transmitted, never stored, and never seen by us — a claim you can verify by watching your browser's network activity during an analysis. The technology
Face Shape Finder is deliberately simple: a fast, dependency-light web page built with plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, powered by Google's MediaPipe Face Landmarker model running in-browser. There is no backend, no database, and nothing to breach. That architecture is what lets the tool be simultaneously free, fast on a phone, and genuinely private.
